Need recommendation for aftermkt indash unit
My June 2003-built Mini has NAV and HK.
I would like to replace it with an aftermarket unit.
Anyone have any recommendations?
It would also be really cool to have DVD, Sirius, HD and Ipod capabilities....

Not a SIMPLE project....
Changing the head unit from a HK unit is not a simple project. The HK head unit sends a digital signal to the HK amp..... not the same signal processed from a regular "preamp" output from a head unit.
Ian Cull makes a module which will allow you to go aftermarket. You'll need (at a minimum) new head unit and the HK module (can't remember the name).
You could go one step further, like me, and get rid of all the HK stuff, head unit, amp and all speakers. Then you could install a nice aftermarket setup which will stomp the HK into the ground!
