handsfree (old thread)

There's an old thread about a "SPEAKER" on ceiling of the minis, people said that this was (back then) a not yet available handsfree system (or part of it). Did they released it? or they just forgot about it?

They sure did release it - the full-blown Bluetooth kit. It's crazy expensive though... I have it, but I'm not aware of anyone else (on NAM at least) that has sprung for it (yet). The "speaker" you mention is actually the intended location of the microphone for the kit.

Thanks for the info... where did you get it from? is it worth it?

Thanks again,

It's a dealer-installed option. Is it worth it? That depends on your opinion. Most people would say no... but I'm not most people! To be perfectly honest, I only think it's worth considering if you have the factory Navigation as well, since it's the only bluetooth kit available that fully integrates with the factory Nav screen.

Search for "bluetooth" here in the Navigation & Audio forum. There are a lot of much less expensive aftermarket bluetooth kits available too.
