Hi all,

Just picked up my mini yesterday... but I have a question about the stereo.

I was listening to a cd I made yesterday. It was an audio cd with no ID3 info.

What I want to know is, is there anyway to change the display on the HU so that instead of just displaying 'track 01' it says how much time into the track you are?? This would be crazy to me if they didn't have this.

I listen to a lot of 60-75 minute long dj sets and stuff, so knowing how far into the set I am or "oh, this song at 20 mins is cool...." is important to me!

Thanks for your help,

Rachael

damn, for such an awesome sound, you'd think they'd have put a little extra oomph into the HU. Oh well, I cant complain!! Does it show track names for audio cd's?

If you are not impressed with the display, do NOT get the official iPod adapter.

My wife has the thing in her 325i.

If you are listening to the first song in the first (BMW1) playlist it says
'CD 1-01'

For Track 99 it says
'CD 1-99'

For track #100
'CD 1-01'

and so on and so-forth.

Plugging a 60GB iPod in with eleventy million tracks is pretty frstrating - espcially if you are not sure what you are listening to.

If you go the iPod route, there are better solutions........

The stock headunit lacks some display features such as ID3 tag, time elapsed, and iPod infos...

It sucks, especially for iPod...

The DICE will get you artist and song title tags on the h/u but not track play time. The Monster iCruze also displays song title and artist info on a separate LCD screen but no track times. The DICE is the more flexible of the two if you want to leave the iPod display and clik-wheel interface fully functional and is not limited to the 6 playlists of the OEM interface and the iCruze.

I'm a DJ here in NYC as well and I too have the SAME problem... all BMW's do this they DO NOT display the time, I hate it as I listen to a ton of DJ sets.... ugh

Fuego's correct, keep in mind you will still be able to see time elasped on the iPod display, since this remains unlocked.
