I have a 2002 cooper and it has a nav

on it and I was wondering, if I choose to update it to the 2006 version of navtech's dvd - or cd- or whatever it is- where is the player? I thought it was under the front driver's seat- but I am beginning to think it may be behind the dash some where.

anyone update theirs?

is it worth it?

where is that dvd-cd nav system thingee?

Pretty sure you can't have the DVD flavor (MKIV) -- they came out late model 2004/early 2005, I believe. You've got a CD version (MKIII) that won't read DVD map disks (requires CD map disks).

You'll find the CD reader under the passenger seat unless it's a convertible -- then it's under the drivers seat.

For software update flashes, your CD version won't be helped by all the latest v27.1 firmware that enables the Perspective Bird's eye view on MKIV systems. The best firmware update available for the MKIII is v17.1

There are CD map updates for CD-based flavors, just as there are for the DVD.
