Ok i want to buy something to hook up my ipod in my 2003 mcs. i want it to charge it also. now the questions. when i first joined here several years ago all i could put, if i remember correctly, was an audio out without being able to charge the ipod. After just graduating college i decided to buy my first car and i bought out the lease on my mini. Now i want to listen to my ipod. Mike from newministuff said i should use icelink plus. Now with this unit can i just plug it into the back of my stock harmon kardon head unit, like is there an plug back there? also im not terrible interested in being able to control the ipod with the headunit because i dont have the multifunction steering wheel. but can i go through all my songs on my ipod and play anyone i want if i choose the song on the ipod and not through the headunit or are ONLY playlists available whether i choose on the ipod or the headunit?
i dont want to get flamed for not searching becuase i have and many threads are either old or concerned with id tags and other functions. i just want to be able to choose any song on my ipod like the fm modulator but actually enjoy listening and not being busy finding a static free station.

If you don't care about having the controls with the HU or display on the HU, I'd recommend getting the AUX input and the Belkin adapter/charger.

$40 for the OEM AUX input, plug into the back of the HU and you're off.

 

i forgot to say i also would like to mount it on one of the pillars and i have the newest ipod i think, the video and photo one. thanks
