Amp and Sub wiring at 2 ohm?
I ordered an amp and a sub for my MCS, how do I wire the amp and sub at 2 ohm?
I have an Alpine MRP-M450 amp and an Alpine SWR-1042D 10" sub.
I attached the pdf files with all the specs... Any info would be great...
I also noticed that the SWR-1022D is 2Ohm-2Ohm, where the SWR-1042D is 4Ohm-4Ohm, should I have gotton the 1022D?
Thanks

Easy, the sub is dual 4-ohm voice coils so wire the voice coils together + to +, - to - and the amp it hooks up to will then see a 2-ohm load.
The amp is a monoblock so there should only be one set of speaker terminals... hook up a wire to one of the + terminals of the speaker to the same on the amp and do the same for the negative.
Voila, 2-ohm load on your amp.

Thanks for all your help...
Maybe you can help me with some speaker upgrade selections... I have the basic stereo/HU, and I want to keep it... I know it doesnt put out alot of power, but I am looking for some good mid/ high range speakers to replace at least the front ones... They have to be high efficiency/sensivity +91db, any suggestions?
