03 Cooper S stock equip?
Just a few questions about stock equip and sizes...
1. Are we talking a 6" up front or is it a true 6.5"? I have a set of MB Quart 6.5" components I'd love to move into the Coop.
2. I'm guessing the radio is standard DIN size?
3. Any issues installing the head unit? Any factory amps that need bypassed or anything like that?
4. How difficult was running power wire through firewall (for amps)? Are there natural grommets present or did you have to drill through it?
5. Exactly how much room in the "trunk" are we talking about here? Enough for maybe one 10" in a sealed enclosure?
Very good chance I'll be getting an 03 Cooper S and I'm just making sure I can utilize what I currently have. Right now I have a JL Audio 300/2 for the front separates and a 500/1 currently running two jlw3 12's... obviously they won't fit, but that's ok I'll get one power hog of a 10" instead =)

first of all the battery is in the trunk n the S so ne need for power through firewall
HK has amps
Otherwise single din no problem here
6.5's MB's should fit fine,
easily room for a single sealed 10

Stock is 5 1/4 in front 6x9 in rear and yes you have room for 1 10 or 2 12's in a sealed box. im currently running MB Quarts all the way around. for the fronts you will need to make an adapter for the speaker. Just pay attention on how far back it sits .. if to far the window will hit it. At this old website i did for my 02 MINI using Pioneer speakers shows what i did for the install.. since then i made a custom Sub box to fit 2 12's and allow the seat to close. Also the fronts were mounted to the door card where on my 03 i made the mount for the door panel itself using 3/4 MDX board.
