I will get a pay light photo today if I can get home before it gets dark. work is so busy, and I have had no time for a quick brake. My friend was amazed at how will it looked, and fit.

This looks pretty clean. I take it the line runs from that toggle input to the headphone jack of your MP3 player?

This is great! Where did you get the documentation for the head unit? Could you make available a better scan of it? I'm curious to play with Tel + and Tel -. I bet with some creative jiggering we could enable the hands-free via the stereo! Also, curious that the pins are labeled "TV", or am I reading it wrong?

Looking at these pictures, I wonder if one could fabricate a makeshift adapter to plug into the third bank (or those with the NAV could just augment the one supplied). Having a printout of which pins work is sure easier than what I was planning on doing (trial and error!). Glad to see that with patience, my plan would have worked, since it really is only 3 wires to enable the AUX.

Great Job MiniPilo!

I was able to find some plugs that fit the head unit just fine. I have the AUX input enabled and I did not cut up the factory wiring. The pins are a .100" pitch spacing. Computer headers use the same spacing. I bought two ps/2 mouse add-on connectors for $2.50 each. I cut off the DIN plug and used the six pin computer side connector to plug into the back of the head unit. I have enough pins available to enable the aux input, phone input and nav input if I want. When I get the chance, i'll post some pictures of the adapter that I made.

You can aslo use the wire used to connect a CD/DVD to a sound card. Three wires, red white and black with the perfect size plugs for the radio pins. Pictures of the described wire on on the mini2 thread....

I pulled out my head unit today to see what I was up against. i didnt have the heart to start snipping wires. I'm going to wait until I can hunt down the part numbers for the white plug w/ black insert, and pins, or a clean alternative.

here's a few shots of the pins and the black insert.

Add me to the list of people that have this installed and working. I used an audio cable designed to run from a sound card to a cd-rom. I pulled the pins out of the plug and inserted them into the mini harness. They locked in place when the black insert was slid into the white harness. I then soldered the loose wires to an old headphone cable I had. I shrink tubed everything. The cable comes out at the very bottom of the plastic trim under the switch panel down near the carpet.

There’s no problem backing this out in the future if need be. The cd changer pins can be snapped back into the harness, the harness moved to the other position, and I’m back to where I started.

I plugged in my Ipaq and get crystal clear sound.

If anyone is looking for good mp3 software for the Ipaq, I strongly recommend taking a look at:

Thanks everyone for your hard work and help!

Take a look at Gabriel Bridger's site [http://bridger.us/mini]. Apparently there is now a part number and a picture for the new AUX port!
