Hello All!

I am new to Mini, new to this site, and new to on-board sat nav.

I just bought this car [below] and the dealer to agreed to provide the latest nav software.
My car is a 2006 model with a build date of 11/25/2005.
So the question is: How can I tell I have the latest version when I pick it up next week?

picked up my 2006 MCS in Feb, came with the 2005 dvd. Since then they have come out with the 2006 dvd

 

There are two separate software components to check for. The map data is stored on a DVD disc and comes from a company called Navteq. The latest version is 2006-2. Eject the DVD from the Nav computer, and you will see the version number printed on the disc.

The other component to check is the Nav computer firmware. Press MENU on the Nav, then select SET. In the settings menu, the firmware version is displayed in the upper right corner. If you have the latest version, it will show "SW 4-1/70". The dealer can install the latest firmware, or you can download it from the Internet and burn your own installation CD.
