Official MINI iPod interface question??

I have the MINI iPod interface installed on my MINI.

Is it possible to have both the interface and MINI Auxiliary Input installed at the same time?

Would that work?

I used to have the Aux. Input with my 3rd gen iPod, but changed it to the MINI iPod interface... Now, I have a 5th generation iPod (Video) and would like to re-install the Aux input.

Does both can be plug at the same time?

Thanks for any help! (I'd try it by myself, but I sold the Aux input...)

Yes...

I have both, the aux input and the iPod adapter. I installed the iPod adapter 1st, then added the Aux later. Have had no problems. FWIW, I have an '05 with H/K.

Yes we could trade... But taking the iPod interface would be a lot of work, so I think I'll just get both

I've just installed the Aux input back and it works great!

I installed the input in the passenger downtube. Here's a picture :

Do both the IPOD adapter and Aux input install behind the head unit or does one have to be wired from the trunk. My setup is a bit more complicated since I have the factory Navigation system.

Ideally i'd like to have the steering multifunction buttons control the music play on the Ipod. Also the Aux would be great if I were to watch a movie off my laptop and use the car speakers for audio.

Lastly, are there any write ups or walk throughs on these installs?

thanks in entertaining a newbie's curiosity.

Best,
Acity
