Navigation & Audio Intermittent behavior w/AUX input
Intermittent behavior w/AUX input
Hello,
I have an '04 MC40 with the OEM aux input. I just bought the car and added the input and all was well for the first couple of days. Then yesterday I got in the car and noticed two things:
1) the radio's input was no longer set to 'AUX' mode; and
2) repeated pushings of the mode button cycled only between 'No Disc' and the radio -- no AUX mode presented itself.
I pulled the dash panel down and felt behind the radio to verify that, Yes, the connector was still properly seated, and the connection to my XM radio was still fully seated as well. While poking and prodding, it mysteriously came back to life ('AUX' was again available as a selectable mode) but power-cycling the car would default the stereo into the Radio source, it wouldn't stay on AUX.
I could still press Mode to get back to it, then coming home this evening while listening to XM, it suddenly changed back to FM radio. AUX has once again disappeared.
Any history which might indicate the cause of this behavior?
thanks,
twj

Use one of these between your XM and the aux input:

Thanks very much. BTW I did find two other solutions as well:
If you're hardwiring your device to +12VDC
To install inline with the audio signal
