I purchased an iPOD interface last week from the dealer. Its part number 65 11 0 409 341 and the label says "GEN2 IPOD I". There are a bunch of sites that post installation instructions for the iPOD adapter, but the instructions are all for part number 65 11 0 392 139. I tried installing my adapter with these instructions but there are mismatches in the number of wires in this adapter vs. the adapter in the instructions.

Has anyone installed an adapter with my part number? Where can I find installation instructions? I tried using the other instructions modifying them where I thought it made sense, but right now my radio won't even turn on. I badly need help.

 

Darn, I should have taken pictures last night as I had my system apart.

You can follow the old instructions with one key difference. Do not pull out the purple/yellow wire from the stereo harness. Gen 1 wanted this. Gen 2, you leave it alone.

This is the Accessory terminal and if you pull it, it has nowhere to connect to on the Ipod. I had this going for a week and my stereo would not shut off by itself when I turn off the car.
