Audio expert advice needed

First off, who is the manufacuter of the stock cd head unit.

Second, I need a recomendation for an aftermarket stereo.

Here are my requirements

1. I must be able to use my steering wheel controls

2. use my ipod

3. I must have the RDS function

4. It must display elapsed time of track (CD)

The last two are aparently tricky to get together....My local stereo shop can't find a stereo that will do RDS AND elapsed time on track (CD)

Can any one suggest a unit that can do both?

Im not looking to get a booming system just upgrade the HU so that I can do choreography, hence the need for elapsed time, and I dont want to lose RDS functionality for "over the air" listening. I will pay what I have to pay to get the functionality I need

i second tuls question what is your budget? pretty much any deck that you are looking for that fits all of your specs. is going to be an higher end headunit. You probably want to look at the higherend pioneers.ie dehp9700mp and dehp-8700mp

you know if you got sat radio you would not have to worry about rds
and units without rds are a whole lot cheaper
i also for got to mention that to get the steering wheel contrlos to work you will need a headunit tht is capable and you will also need an adapter which is about $100

Also Alpine makes the mini head units.

Maybe the top end Naks will do both..hmmmmm worth a look..
