IceLink >Plus problem...

So I just installed my IceLink this weekend and I ran into a problem. Snaking the wire from the boot to the center console wasn't hard at all. However, after getting everything to the front I plugged the link in and plugged in my iPod and this is what happened...

1) Turned on the radio
2) iPod began to charge, but no dension GUI.
3) H/K radio was reading: CD CHECK -> Track 1 -> CD CHECK -> Track 1 etc..

Any ideas as to what this may be? I checked firmware and reset my iPod but still the same stuff. Also after turning off the radio, unplugging the iPod, replugging the iPod and turning on the radio nothing would happen except for it charging. If I unplugged the cables in the boot and replugged those back in, I would get the "Ok to disconnect" but the same issue with the CD CHECK.

Help! I may have to actually rip it all out and return it to Best Buy. the guy there told me he would swap a new one to me no problem if I gave him everything. He also told me that he has a similar issue where he went through four ice links and it ended up being the cable

Thanks!
-Nick

I haven't heard specific problems with their interfaces, but it could very well be the cable. The unit is getting power, hence the Ipod is charging. I would suggest leaving the new cable external, plug everything in, make sure it works, then hide the wires. This way you don't go thru the whole proccess to determine the cable or whatever else is faulty.

You did not mention disconnecting the MINI's battery and reconnecting after the Icelink install.
This step must be performed for the MINI to recognize the addition of a "CD Changer."

Good luck.

I didn't disconnect anything. Just popped open the rear access panel, untaped the wiring harness to release the plugs, plugged in the iceLink and turned the key on. Worked like a charm. Once I verified the operation, I snaked the cable up front. Besides the time I spent fooling around with it and reading the manual to understand how it worked, the whole thing took about 20 minutes.
