I see a lot of posts in regards to the H/K, and having problems and such but what about the stock? Any problems? or is it a solid (basic) system?

I've had exactly zero problems in 2 1/2 years with my base unit. My only gripe (and it's a big one, for me) is a feature deficiency, not a malfunction: it doesn't display track time elapsed, which is really lame. Any bargain basement $20 portable CD player does. The HK unit doesn't display it either, which is even more lame.

I don't really haunt the audio forum, but I don't recall seeing many persistent or common problems with the base CD player.
