Sub + amp combo question
Hi all,
I finally picked up my Cooper S this week, so I'm starting to plan the transformation of my stereo. Currently, I've got Pioneer Premier DEH P650 head unit I had in my Impreza and an old Rockford Fosgate 400.4 amp (50 watts x 4 channels) I recently picked up a pair of Polk MMC6500s for the front and MMC690s for the rear. Add to that the OmniFi DMPI which I still need to figure out a home for the controller.
My question is what to get for a sub and amp to finish off the system. Currently, I'm looking at combining the Alpine MRD-M605 (600 watts @ 2ohms) with a 10" Rockford Fosgate Stage 3 Punch sub (P310-D2), which is rated for 400 watts RMS @ 2 ohms.
I had a 12" RF sub powered by a 500 watt amp in my Impreza and really liked it, but unfortunately, I don't have either any more.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I just picked up a Polk C500.1 amp, rated at 350W x 1 @ 4 Ohms, 500W x 1 @ 2 Ohms.
Matched it up with 12" Polk MM 2124 (75-400W RMS power range).
I got a great deal from www.crutchfield.com as the subwoofer was only $20. You get a free 10" sub with the purchase of the amp.
I put the sub in a Qlogic QLT-.8512SE Type1 enclosure.
Previously, I had a crappy Profile CA400 (300W bridged) and a Polk 12" DB124 speaker and the new setup really blows the old one away.
Now all I have to do is get rid of my engine whine which I am currently attirbuting to a bad ground setup. Haven't had the time to rip everything apart........
