Installed the OEM unit in my 05 MCS last night. Not too bad, but I am a little confused by one thing. How is the tuner unit mounted when the dealer installs it. I have all of the cables coming out the bottom (this was the only way I could get the H/K cable to reach to the other side for the amp.) The stud that I tried to bolt on to doesn't thread all the way, and I can't get the bracket tight (may need to add a few washers).

I found the antenna fairly easy to remove by going through the motion sensor hatch inside and using a 22mm socket and a swivle joint.

Could someone take a picture or two of their tuner installed?

The cable from the HK amp in mine runs under the carpet in the center, over the battery. I think that frees up some slack. The sirius tuner is on the left side of the boot. I'm sure the side panels have to be removed for installation. Not sure if this helps you.

 

Yeah, if I ran the cable straight across, that would free up some slack... Thanks. Is the Sirius unit mounted so the cables are coming out of the top or bottom?
