It has been a while, hasn't it?

I'm the guy with the MINI HK page, HERE. I've finally hit a snag with my unit: My CD player won't work anymore. The questions I have are:
1. Can any Boost stereo head feed the HK system or do I need a special one?
2. If any Boost will do, is any programming involved or would a dropped-in Boost unit automatically acknowledge the HK amp and features?

Great write up!

Their were head units pre 1/2004 and head units post 1/2004. 1/2004+ i think is the same they just had RDS text updates R50 R53. Then their was a head unit in 2007-2008 mostly for the R52 convertible.

I believe all Gen 1 MINI head units will work used in R50-R52-R53 pre and post 1/2004. Its those weird 2007-2008 Models you have to match. The amp is on its own and just gets a single from the headunit. So you can swap out amps and headunits easliy. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ker-specs.html

Get a new or used head unit and just install.


We did get a rare tape deck radio and the super rare MINI disc. But i never saw a MINI with it so chances are you will never find one by mistake'
