Navigation & AudioAudio upgrades, bluetooth, and navigation discussions surrounding the Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs.
When I purchased my GP2 for a track car I knew from the first ride I would need a much better sound system for the long drives to the track. I have always liked clean undistorted bass in my vehicles as well as stealth installs. I did some research and came across Integral Audio. What I loved about their setup, was the incredibly stealth install and the fact that I could remove the sub when I was heading on track. To me the cost was worth the benefit of a highly engineered sound system with extremely clean install. My GP2 is, dare I say a one-off with a number of aftermarket upgrade. I did not feel comfortable doing it myself or taking it to an install center that was unfamiliar with MINIs. I called up Kevin and asked him if he would be willing to do the install if I brought it to him. As the developer of the system I knew the installation and tuning of the system would be perfect. He agreed. I dropped it off on a Wednesday Morning to Kevin and Trey and they called me up on Friday and told me it was all set.
Now onto the sound..... Absolutely blown away!! It sounds incredible with as much bass as you want or need with no distortion. I always hate those sound systems where the bass sounds like a deflating balloon. The mids and highs with the new speakers allow you to really enjoy whatever music you are listening to. I am so happy I went with the Integral Audio setup. 100% worth the upgrade for any Mini. You won't be disappointed! Here are some pics:
