Newbie needing help

Hello Forum,

I'm a first-time Mini owner (2015 R60 Countryman S). I am not sure of my way around this forum so if I've posted this in the wrong place I apologize. My Mini has the basic non-digital radio. I am wanting to replace it with one of those Mini radios with Nav, multi-colored ring, speedo that moves around the ring, and Mini Connect. Unfortunately, Mini service tells me that isn't possible. So, now I'm looking for an Android radio replacement. I've seen many OLD threads talking about this but none really provide any good up-to-date information. In my own research, I'm finding that all of the offerings are in metric units. The speedometer is kmh, the fuel is in liters, the remaining fuel mileage in in kilometers, etc. I don't really want that.

Also, I'm having a hard time finding one that is compatible with the 2015 R60. Most ads on AliExpress are saying up to 2013 models. The pictures look like mine with the two air vents up on the dash next to the Speedo, but the ad doesn't say they will fit my 2015. I've heard some people say DO NOT get the Seicane brand.

Does ANYONE have any current firsthand knowledge of a good reliable Android radio that will work in my Mini?

Thank you in advance,

MM

Normally takes the Chinese a good few years before they come out with a compatible unit, unless they can copy from another manufacturer.

Have you tried contacting a seller directly on AliExpress if they sell any compatible units for your MINI model?

The Sat/Nav unit can be retrofitted and coded. Unfortunately not by the dealer cause they don't know sh*t!
You could find some garage that specialises in these, but I think the parts to do the retrofit are quite expensive.
