Help with Visual Boost retrofit

Hi all, I'm hoping I can get some help with my retrofit as all the info I can find online is baffling me.

I have a 2016 MINI One that has the standard Boost radio in it (orange display and very ugly). I have purchased a second hand Visual boost screen and headunit to fit in its place. Hardware wise I am happy with what I need to do but its the coding side that I am stuck with. I have decent enough computer knowledge but this is a new game to me but I'm very keen to learn.

I have read that I will need to wipe the VIN from the Visual Boost unit to make the car and the head unit talk properly, is this correct and if so how would I go about this? I have seen reports of tool32, Esys, Inpa but they are all very confusing and new to me without some sort of guide and I haven't a clue what I would need to look for without some guidance.

Any help would be really apprecited, I really want to get the VB unit working. I know I could have gone for the NVT EVO setup but cost is an issue for me so want to keep it simple but gain a screen at least.

Many thanks,

Harry

You can't code a visual boost head unit at least not pre lci units. Haven't researched the lci versions.
The 6 inch screen needs a different connector vs what you have currently in your vehicle.
