Bouncing Boost, Whats going on?? Help!

MODS: 19% Reduction, Intake, one-ball exhuast mod.

Heres whats going on. The car drives perfect on WOT pulls hard everything is OK boosting 17PSI somethings, 16, sometimes even 18PSI. At Crusing with slight throttle everything seems ok. The problem is. When i drive Normally now this happens 2nd gear mostly sometimes 3rd. from 1-5 PSI all is good and anything over 9-18 PSI is perfect also. Its when i get into the 6-8 PSI range and hold in there on about half throttle the car Looses and Gains power back and forth from about 3K RPM to about 5500 RPM the Gauge shows me 6 PSI then 8, then back down to 6 then back up to 8, and its like back and forth. The feeling is almost like getting on the gas slightly and then letting off, and its repeated. I drove 16K miles already on the Pully and the Belt, and its been drive about maybe hard half the time. Do you think its time for a new Belt? Or do you think my problem is a little more serious? Any input would be great, Oh and No service engine lights yet. Has any one ever heard of something like this?

This sounds like the YoYo! Much written about it on this forum, so do a search. Also search for VGS, which is one solution, but the real solution is fixing the supercharger bypass valve (search for this also.) After about 4 hours reading all the posts, my guess is you'll recognize the symptoms. I had it at 3k-3.5k, exacerbated by heavy modifications to the engine, but it ameliorated with the VGS mod.

cheers,

Adjsut your by-pass valve, or get a Detroit Tuned (DT BPV) one for even better performances!

And Andy's VGS (Vacuum Gain System) also helps a lot, and it's cheaper...

But doing both does a great combo... I did VGS first, and DT's BPV later... VGS helped a lot with Yo-Yo, but DT's BPV turned the engine into a real supercharged car! It pulls harder from lower RPM, and creates boost much faster! I don't know if it's because of the adjusted BPV, or the stiffer spring, but it's the best mod I've done, with MTH Tuner and 15% pulley! (Alta CAI comes close too)

Do you feel that both of these are necassary to do on an '06?

First mods that I will do are the 15%, cai and short shifter. Possibly MTH if they have a special this christmas
