Hi, I’m new at the forum,, i know this is an old thread, I’ve read the entire post and you guys helped me a lot to get some things clear about flashing, coding and stuff, I’ve seen you are a master in this , can you help me to know what i need exactly to change my 6.5 non touch / nav, mine is a 2016 F56 Chili S , i want a 8.8 touch and CarPlay of course.

Hi, I changed my 6.5 no nav to a 8.8 with headunit with new graphics, carplay and everything worked perfect, but when I start the car in the morning there's no video on the screen, only audio, I had to take the screen off and plug the wires again, but happened again this morning, do you guys know what could be happening?

Vin is WMWXM920002D05622. Be great to also find out how to get the options list for it; my wife would like active cruise control too, but not sure that's an easy add on without a front camera which her car doesn't have.

Hey all, I'm reading this thread and feel like I might have found a treasure trove of info. I recently purchased a 2017 F57 (Convertible Cooper S) and I'm almost certain it has the 8.8 inch NON-touchscreen iDrive 4, but it has MINI Connected. Is it possible to upgrade to Apple CarPlay with only software? It seems like it has everything it would need to do so. This gets a little confusing as I don't see much about my particular head unit. Hi Dragos V. Would love to do it myself, as the more I get into this, the more interesting it is. If you could send files will be greatly appreciated. Also, I have just found out I have an ID4. Was spending hours trying to find out what I had. 8" touch my car is a F54 2016 2.0 SD clubman. So I will also be looking at doing the ID4 to ID5.

Uff long way from id4 to id5/6. It's not that i don't want to help you, but this takes weeks for you to understand the whole process.
First start with some FDL coding with Lite Psdzdata.
Then if u have iD4 unit u can flash it to iD6 but CarPlay will be Split Screen cause if you put a iD6 version that supports CarPlay Full Screen you will have a very unstable unit: lag, reboots.
You need to know which MINI i-level is split screen and which is full screen.

So first you need to understand the process then you can do it on your own. We on the forums have years of experience and took a while until i fully understand the process.

You can search for id6 files on forums but personally i don;t think it will help you. If you want to start learning just go and spend time and read the forums and buy a bench.

If you want to flash your unit i can help you with that, but unfortunately i don't teach others.

I have a 2016 F54. With 8" touch screen. Will that be ID4 or ID5 as the install specks say ID4. Did and ID4 come with a touch screen?

if u have version E that means that you have an id4 unit, yes. In most cases only id6 and entrynav2 have 8.8 touch screen displays.
