iOS 13 update issues
iOS 13 update issues
Is anyone having an issue where the CarPlay keeps cutting out after iOS13? I also got the iPhone 11 pro so I can’t tell if it’s the software update or the new phone. 2019 F56 with HK system.
Since iOS 13, my CarPlay keeps interrupting any other media, so if I’m trying to listen to the radio, CarPlay interrupts and tries to play what I was last listening too on my phone, or just interrupts and plays nothing.
I’m using an iPhone X and having problems, so I don’t know that I’d blame the new phone.

I’ve updated to iOS 13.1 and I’m still having the same problem. Everything worked fine before the update to iOS 13.
I have a second phone for work - I’ll update it to iOS 13.1 soon and see if CarPlay works any better with it.

This always works. I have 13.1 on an X and all is well.

Same here. I’m going to be traveling for a few days, but when I get home, I’m going to try Reset All Settings on my phone and see if that helps any.
Earlier today, I reset all settings on my phone (General/Settings/Reset/Reset All Settings), and then deleted my iPhone as a mobile device from the car. After reconnecting my phone to CarPlay, so far, everything is working properly. I'll give this another day or two and post an update.
Well now I have confirmation that a second MINI with wireless carplay is having the same issue as my car with the iPhone 11Pro.
same issue 13.1 os with 2020 JCW Clubman
Paired it up when I purchased my car on Wednesday - last night going around a corner CarPlay gave up the ghost but was able to play just fine on Bluetooth. I'll reset settings tonight and update to the latest OS to see if that helps.
Any news?
Thanks for sharing! I have posted the issue on other Apple related forums to hopefully get attention of apple engineers.
Having the same issue with my 2018 F54 and iPhone XS. Stopped for gas on Friday and when I turned the car back on CarPlay no longer worked. Have unpaired and forgotten the device, resynced, but still no luck with CarPlay. As with everyone else, connecting only with Bluetooth works fine. Running iOS 13.1.1, but will try updating to 13.1.2 today to see if that helps.
Are you saying that you're going into iOS settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings and then CarPlay works again? Sounds like a pain to go back and then adjust every app again to configure the phone settings as I prefer.

Yes - I went to iOS settings: General/Reset/Reset All Settings. I then told my car to forget my phone, and then re-paired the phone to the car, and things have worked well since.
I agree that it is a pain, but my CarPlay has worked fine since.
If you try it, let me know if it works. So far, I don't know if anyone else has tried.

My head-unit doesn't have car play (It's non- NAV - 6.5 "), but with the iOS update I can no longer select my playlist songs with the iDrive scroll wheel and pushing down. I used that constantly before..There are reports all over that this happened. I hope it gets sorted out soon. It used to work over Bluetooth and plugged in.
