Connecting active sub to 2013 R56 JCW.
Hi Fellas,
I have a 2013 R56 JCW and I want to fit the Pioneer TS-WX70DA slim-line active sub.
Now, I know it's probably not the best active sub available, but I do need to keep some of the limited boot space that I have!
Do any of you know how I would connect this sub?
I'm thinking of using the Integral Audio connector MCWH-X9331-S to connect the sub via RCA leads, but what about power and remote turn on??
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Connected my sub to the auxiliary socket live in the boot (cigarette lighter thing) for activation with ignition. The main power lead has to go direct to the positive terminal of the battery and fused. I connected the rear speaker leads to the sub (spliced)
So, according to what I've read, the Pioneer active sub only 'draws' 10 amps, so can be run directly off the cigarette lighter?? Unfortunately, there isn't one in the boot. I need the blue auto power on connected somewhere?
I'm going to connect the sub, signal wise, to the connector mentioned in my original post. So, it's the blue auto turn on I need to connect and getting the power to the sub. Apparently it doesn't need to be connected directly to
the battery?

You are correct, any terminal in the fuse box that supplies more than 10 amp will do. Sorry, I though all R56 MINIs had the 12v socket in the trunk/boot for emergency tyre pump. Mine is left of centre on the inner plastic panel, lower lip of trunk. It has a plastic plug hiding it (I had to lean into the compartment with a torch to find it). If you don't have it I don't know where you would find a 10amp + supply in the luggage area. You may have to run wires to front outlet and battery.
We don't recommend using a 12V auxiliary socket for turn on - you can find the actual RAD_ON signal in a number of places in the vehicle. If you're using our X9331 harness, then tap pin 1 of the X15 connector, which is attached to the X9331 connector in the vehicle. The problem with 12V socket is you'll find there is a delay as well as times when the rest of the audio system is on but your sub won't be. The RAD_ON comes on when the audio system is supposed to be on, which is not tied to when the 12V auxiliary is energized.
Hi Scudder44, not sure if you are aware but the rear speaker signal is highly EQ'd, dramatically in the HIFI and h/k systems, and has a notch filter plus low end roll off in the Base audio systems. You'll get much, much better performance from your sub if you switch to the flat analog signal going to the amp (HIFI and h/k) or switch to using the fronts for input (Base).
