What's your audio setup?
Hello guys, after fixing something on my r53 I just got (leaky sunroof drain, leaky fuel filter, broken door mechanism, etc.) I plan on upgrading the speakers as I drive the r53 100 miles daily. The door speakers were blown so I thought I could replace the stock blown ones with 5-1/4 speakers. Well the 6x9's in the back basically drown out the song with bass. So I'm just wondering what setup you guys are using? I'm going to replace the headunit, 5-1/4, and 6x9's. Thanks!

I replaced the stock head unit with a JVC KD-AV44 (DVD/surround sound/iPhone ready/USB/Bluetooth), replaced front door speakers with MB Quart 5 1/4 comp, rear speakers left stock, Clarion center channel speeaker/Bazooka subwoofer tube with Polk 8" sub. An Alpine V12 5 channel amp (4x90w+250w) powers the system. I built a false floor in the trunk for the amps and power blocks. Am thinking of putting in two 8" or 10" free air subs in the trunk baffle (I have a 07 R52 MCS vert) but have not settled on which is the best sub for free air use. I had to pull the amp set up to allow for battery access while getting some work done last week so I am in the tuning stage of things again. My only regret is not having the dealer programable mods done before I pulled the stock unit out because the only way to program is through the stock head unit.
