Recoding Head Unit To car

Hello, I have a 2007 R55 Cooper S Clubman. I took it to BMW recently as I have no gongs, can't use my Bluetooth, microphone etc or aux or USB port. The guy who had my car before swapped the stereos out, so my car has another minis head unit coded to that car. I have radio and DAB. BMW can't or won't reset the head unit. How is this achievable? I'm at my wits end. I'm in the UK.

Verify that you actually have these options. use bimmer.work the units should be plug and play. Make sure you still have the blue tooth module under the left seat. try NOT to disconnect the airback (yellow plug) from the seat.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I definitely have Bluetooth on board. BMW told me it's an issue of coding. Unfortunately they can't or won't wipe/reset the coding the stereo has to another car. This is all too difficult for me.

the only thing i can think of is you buy another head unit with the same options and see if it works. make sure the item is returnable if anything...btw, does it have the navi?

If it is a coding issue you can do it with NCSExpert and D-CAN cable. BMW Service Centres will only use standard dealer-level software, which may not allow them to code a non-blank unit even if they had all the willingness to do so.

NCSExpert and WinKFP are factory/development level, so will allow you to do almost anything.

Thanks. That is really good information. I just need to find someone who can do it. We will see.
