Anyone have any experience with the NAVDY heads up display? From everything I have read it has a lot more features than the aftermarket Mini option. I had been looking at the OEM aftermarket version, but didn't care for the looks or features for the price. I like having the option of displaying speedo, tach, gas gauge, and other features on the display. It works in conjunction with your phone, but also has an integral GPS system so your car doesn't have to have the GPS option to have it in the HUD. The only connection required is to the the OBD II. Depending on the optional gauges it'll display I may be able to do away with my Scangauge II and my Garmin. Time will tell.
Anyway, I won a NAVDY on eBay and managed to pay $150 less than retail for a new unit. Only downside is it's coming via An Post from Ireland. Patience is not one of my strong suits. I will keep y'all posted once it arrives (6/1-6/14) and give you my impressions.
I really look forward to your impressions once you've had a chance to hook it up and give it a go! It seems like all the aftermarket HUD systems are basically beta test programs you pay to participate in.
Well, the package arrived today. Five days from Ireland is a lot quicker than I expected. Got the software and maps updated this afternoon. Hoping to have time tomorrow to get it installed and finish the setup. Pictures and impressions within a couple of days... I hope. The build quality of the components and the packaging make me think of Apple products.
I just bought a Navdy unit; although the company is now defunct, there is a strong user Dev community continuing on with updates and new features. All I can say is wow, this thing is awesome. It works well with android but iOS needs some work for the map searching capabilities.
Thanks, but this won’t help me. I have an iPhone X. I can still use it for HUD, but the only address left in the NAV portion is “home”. Everything else seems to work except ability to ad addresses.
Edit: Well, I have it installed on my phone. All I need to do now is pair it with my display. Hope to get to that this weekend. Thanks.
I’d appreciate your impressions of the new app.

The new app works the same as the previous. Now Ive noticed a few bugs but Im not sure if that's due to the fact that Im running iOS 12 beta.
1. The menu gets moved up after doing an address search.
2. Glance notifications - im not seeing any apps populated there.
As I said this may be due to me using beta iOS. I’m going to restore the original app and see if the same thing happens with the glance notification apps; can’t check the address search obviously.
I’ve got the new app downloaded. I just need to try and sync it with the display. Just had surgery on left arm and can’t get in and out of the Mini unassisted. Hopefully I’ll get to it in a week or so. Thanks for the assistance. I’m looking forward to using the display for more than a HUD again.
I used to use the beta versions on my iPhone until it caused my 7+ to crash and burn a year or so ago. I’m still in the beta program on my MacBook, but I’m reconsidering that since the OS went tango uniform a couple weeks ago. Closest Apple store is 75 miles away, so as soon as I get it fixed I’ll just wait for the official software release.
