I've read that the reverse wire, which needs to be connected to the nav hide away unit, is located within the left door sill. I thought I also read somewhere that it was in the right door sill further towards the front than the speed pulse wire.

Does anyone know which sill it's in and what color it is?

not sure where the reverse wire is in the MINI, but you can always get it from the light itself in the rear. Reverse, however, is not required for proper operation for the nav. It's just there to let the nav know when you are going backwards. as long as you dont plan on driving in reverse for long distances, you will not have any problems.
