Upgrade to newer audio cable?

I have a '14 R60 JCW All4 that came with a custom USB cable to plug iPhones in. It has the old 32-pin connector. As I'm using a ProClip USA dash mount and have a 6 foot extension cable running to the mount with a 32-pin/Lightning adapter to fit the newer iPhone models.

Problem I am running into is that due to the extension cable and adapter, I'm losing quite a bit of amperage and my phone basically burns more battery than the cable can charge when I have Waze open and playing music via my iPhone.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this?

Thanks,

Mike S.

Most USB ports are limited to 500mA. So I'm pretty sure the issue isn't the cable, it's what the car USB port can put out.

The iPhone plug in wall charger puts out 1A, and the phone can pull up to 2.4A when connected to a source that can handle it. If you get a charger for the lighter socket that puts out more amps it'll fix the issue.
