How to Remove Factory iPod Interface?

Hey guys,

First time posting here. I recently bought an 05 MCS with the H/K audio and a factory iPod connection. I've experienced some of the weird bugs that others have mentioned, and want to ditch that interface for the factory AUX input. Does anyone have instructions or advice on removing the iPod interface? Is it even possible?

Thanks!

Yes its possible - You have to look up the instructions for installing the iPod interface and reverse it out. Some of the pins have been moved to the iPod interface and need to be moved back to the radio harness

Awesome! I'm nervous, but I should be fine. Thanks for the help! I wonder if there's a market for used iPod interface kits

Here are the installation instructions: http://www.motoringfile.com/files/mi...structions.pdf. If you simply disconnect the adapter box, you will have effectively removed it from your system.

What weird bugs are you talking about? It might be an H/K issue.

I've read on about one or two other threads that a few people have had weird problems associated with the iPod interface being connected. I've experienced 2 of 3 they described (random interior lights turning on and not turning off until battery is disconnected and battery drained). They also described turn signal indicators inside the car not working, but outside the signals are on.
