Base Audio Upgrade / 2015 Cooper S / Who has done this?

I'm the new owner of a 2015 Cooper S Hardtop, haven taken delivery 30 days ago. I love the car but I'm very dissatisfied with the base audio system, especially the 'limiting' that is done when the volume is turned up high causing the volume / bass to drop out to protect blowing a speaker. I've read tons of stuff in the forum and online and I'm surprised that I haven't seen any mention of this topic, but maybe I missed it. There also seems to be very few people that have actually upgraded their base audio system. I'd be very interested in any information as to upgrades that have been completed, the details as to the products installed and if you are satisfied with the end results. I'm especially interested if anyone has installed a DSP to strip away all of the factory EQ settings coming from the head unit. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!

Im in the process of installing a lot of kit into my 2015 Cooper SD, yes the base audio is pants so it has to change.

I plan to change everything, add a Audison Bit One, new speakers, amps and a sub.

Might be a bit much for my tastes (& budget).

I favor the classics: Mozart, Mendelssohn, Motörhead.
