Does anyone know why the speed sensitive volume doesn't go up and down with a HK upgrade?

Mark..........

See the "Audio" section for this topic being regularly discussed ...

It *does* compensate for volume - just enough to not be noticeable
If the windows are closed it does its job well.

I have one of the first cars with an HK. The speed sensitive volumn works fine even with windows open. I notice a difference in volumn depending upon speed.

Do this quick test. Turn on the radio and accellerate to freeway speeds. Turn off the radio and turn it back on while at speed. The volumn now is much lower than what it was. You have to turn it back up to get it to a listenable level. Now back at a stop, turn on and off the radio. Notice how the volumn remains constant? The drop seen at freeway speeds when cycling power is the speed sensitive volumn drop. Why it doesn't go back and figure out that you're cruising at speed and readjust it I don't know...just a small bug in the software not many people would even notice, much less care about.

Here's something interesting...the speed sensitive adjustment adjustment screen does absolutely nothing regardless of the setting I specify (yes, my HU is that old that it does have the adjustment screen which now is disabled on HK systems).

unless yours is broken - the H/K does compensate for speed, though it is not adjustable, and it's subtle for those rock-concert ears
