Hey,
I have the F56 (non S) with the stock sound system and was wondering if anyone did any upgrades on that stock system and what they did. I really want to upgrade mine, but don't know where to start.

Is it the standard audio or the H/K? What are you looking to do complete build, add bass something in between? I know to do anything your going to need a quality Line out Converter. Audio Control offers some good nits at decent price. As far as the mids/high speakers thats the tough one due to them being 4" components. I have found a few sets so far but not sure how much of an upgrade over the H/K set they are. I have been looking to upgrade also and I have the H/K system and its just not enough for my taste.

You might post in the Gen 2 Nav and Audio forum, because I think vendors hang around there because there are so many cars. There is an outfit (maybe Audio Control not sure) that makes a whole stereo replacement package for the Gen 2 Mini. Amp, speakers, crossovers, wiring harness, even an optional Sub. It's quite a bunch of stuff, and they may be working on one for the Gen 3.

 

Integral audio is the company that has the bundles for r56. I'm looking at using an Audison Bit 10 for a processor 1 or 2 Sundown SD-3 10's for components probably some CDT Audio comps not sure which set. For amps I want some nice mini amps I would like to go with Zed audio but there on the high price side. Focal supposedly has a few 4" comp sets that fit BMW but not sure if they fit the Mini
