I have not drivin my mini in a while and purchased a iPhone 6. I was using the iPhone 5 just fine, I have a 30 pin to lightning adapter and my mini is a 2012 with HK not mini connected. I get sound but have to control everything from the phone. I just took the mini in for service and with the last 4 of the vin the parts guy gave me the cable I'm supposed to use. I tried the new mini y adapter. It first said I had to dl an app which I did then when all was said and done I didn't get any sound through the radio. Is there a way to contol the iPhone 6 with the steering wheel? Do I need a software update for the radio?

 

You mean advancing to the next song using the steering wheel control?

Yes that's what I have now. I tried the new lightning y adapter and nothing worked no sound no control. I've been using the 30 pin to lightning adapter with the ip5 for ever. When I plug the 6 in the song advance does not work hell nothing on the radio works ie switching to the next song. Volume works fine.

 

My stereo has not been updated in a while, the car is coded so I don't know if updating the radio will mess with that?
