Haven't seen any software updates on the mini connectivity site in quite some time. Has anyone heard or seen any news concerning new software? I hope mini hasn't forgot about gen 2 owners!!!

The web form sometimes is simply a compatibility check with your one. Once just moments ago I was able to have it populate a link for update file. Clicked the link to download the update, nothing happened. Now every time when I go back it's simply providing a compatibility legend with my Mini Connectivity Phone version TX-003.005.008-003.004 and my iPhone 6 showing what features are compatible.

I updated the system back in 2015 to what I believe was using source file UPD01008.bin. Not for certain.

Are there any other resources to determine if software updates are available for the Connectivity system in the R56?

 

Believe I figured this out.

BMW has a software update site that works with our VIN's. http://www.bmw.com/update

Punch in the last seven digits of your VIN.

The version ID's are a little skewed. Mine indicate in the car ->Multimedia: MX-003.005.004 and Telephone: TX-003.005.008

The readme on the UPD01008.bin indicates versions to be installed MX-3.5.4, TX-3.5.8. These are abbreviated naming conventions of how they are actually displayed in the car. https://legacy.bmw.com/_common/share...D01008_ENG.pdf

In summary it appears or highly likely that UPD01008.bin is the last version that will be produced for the R56 as it's been 3+ years without an update.
