Need I say OK each time?

Each time I start Navigation, it gives me a warning message (not to drive off cliffs, etc).

Can I avoid this somehow?

Easily? No...

However, if you feel confident with computer stuff, you can code it out as well as apply some other tweaks and changes. I did this on my Countryman and it was very much worth it.

Mini nav, and, actually, all nav systems, by law, have to show that warning. Just wait 2 seconds and it will go away on its own. Parking sensor always got rid of it for me.

You could turn it off and use the force.

See thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ogramming.html. Post #99 has done it.

I don't have the nav system but I've got a comparable admonition tacked to the center panel that reads "Do Not Invert". I'm always glad to be reminded of that and would never consider turning it off.

BY 'LAW?' What law would that be? Not being a butthead - but I'm not aware of any law that says every time a nav system starts you have to agree to not be an idiot.

The 'law' is merely the lawyers trying to avoid liability.

I believe it's a liability issue rather than an enforceable mandate.

Much the same as labeling on take out coffee letting the buyer know that the coffee is hot or on lawn mowers warning that the moving blade can hurt you.

Juries (comprised of idiots) have been known to make other idiots rich.

My freaking Mini Connected screen has some limp screen every start up to "agree" to not mess with the screen while smoking a cigarrette with a beer can between your legs driving 100 MPH on twisty roads. (I do it anyway.)
