6 Disc CD Changer removal

Hello All,
I've searched the threads and could not find what I am looking for.
First, I have a 2004 MCS with stock audio system and a 6 disc cd changer factory/dealer installed. The disc changer option is part of my VIN number.
I want to remove the whole system and install a Kenwood KDC-X998 receiver and some other items.
My question is this, What if any issues will i have if I just unplug the unit and stow the wiring to the unit?
Is there any car programming that goes with this option that will need to be re-programmed?
I would like to use the original wiring to the control head and install an adapter harness to the Kenwood unit.
Thank you for any insights and suggestions!

Unplug the CD player and leave the wires where they are. My 04 came prewired for a CD player but did not have one and the wires were just left in the side hatch. There should not be any type of deprograming you need to do.
