CD Player Delete

I have the HK Boost Radio and was wondering if it is possible to remove the CD player portion of the system and still have everything else work. I would like to custom mount two gauges in this location instead.

It looks like I can separate them but I must keep the cd unit in the car, like relocate it to the secret compartment.

Anyone have comments/ideas?

I disassembled mine originally so the physical computer parts CCC was still in the dash but the cd components of it were gone. That way the sat radio, door chimes, Bluetooth still works.

I ended up retrofitting a Mini Visual Boost system into my car.

I posted pics in another thread in May of this year.

I have the Hi-Fi system and removing the CD player made all of the buttons and screen in the speedo no longer function, I would think the HK would have a similar issue. I replaced it with a Double-din...

I read your other thread, what a journey you when on.

If I understand you correctly, you think that I can gut the cd portion and leave the computer portion which will enable me to mount two ~50mm gauges where one would normally load a CD and still retain all other functionality.

My is a 2013 (6/13 build date). Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just try removing/modifying mine and see what happens. I'm out of town for the next few weeks so this will be a fun project for when I get back.
