Android phone/Mini Connected question

2014 R58 with Mini Connected. HTC One Android phone. How to I play music via BT over the car's stereo? When I connect I only see phone numbers. Can I access text messages on the screen (no NAV)? I heard that the Mini Connected App for Android is pretty worthless. Thanks in advance.

My MotoX is pretty well connected. It streams via BT, can pull text messages, can find all of my contacts. The only thing it won't do is pull an address out of the phone and drop it into the NAV. Which is pretty annoying, but everything else works, so I guess I can live with it.

You don't actually use the Mini Connected. You just pair your phone with the system.
