Stereo Install?

Hello all. This weekend I plan on installing a new stereo in my 04 justa. Is there anything I should know, wires in specific? What colors are which on the factory harness? And would crimping the wires together be okay? Thanks for everything.

I installed a Pioneer DEH-80PRS I purchased from Crutchfields. With the instructions provided, it was a very straight-forward and easy install using the provided adapter harness.

The install instructions and wiring diagram are linked below.

The wiring adapter I used was Metra 70-9003C. It worked like a champ.

You'll need this too for radio reception - Euro Antenna Adapter OEM F to Motorola M

And this for the mounting adapter - Metra 99-9302 In-dash Receiver Kit

What bjcarter2 said....

You shouldn't need to be cutting and crimping cables, you can do everything via harness adapters and kits for the antenna and fascia.

Definitely spend a little $ and get a wire harness. Don't Mickey Mouse around when you can securely plug and play. Other than that, it's pretty simple install.

Well I already bought a stereo from walmart, and it has the harness sticking out the back for the wire connections. So crutchfield is out of the question. I would like to know the colors of the wires for the power, ground, front speakers, rear speakers, and any extra. Thanks!

At the very least you will need that fascia adapter as the original mini stereo fascia is oversized.
Also unless you bought a no name stereo you can get the adapter for all the major brands.
Check out the links in Post #2 that has the wiring info that you are after

Is the same headunit sold by Crutchfield? You may be able to buy a wiring adapter from Crutchfield.

The wires on the Walmart stereo get crimped to the harness adapter. Then plug the adapter to factory harness.
