Hello all,

My new-to-me 05 R53's driver door speaker doesn't work. I took the door panel off and don't see anything wrong with the wires attached to it. I was thinking of switching it with the passenger side, which is working, to see if it's the wiring or the speaker. Anything else I should be aware of?

If you have HK, the amp might be faulty.

 

Anyway to test that?

 

Not really, swapping the speakers is the way to go if you didn't own the car when the fault developed. But the amp usually dies first.

You can also test the DC resistance of he suspect speaker with a multimeter. Expect ~4R. Open circuit = damaged driver.
