USB (Thumbdrive) Power

Quick question:

I have some road music loaded onto a small usb stick, no problems playing, accessing, or changing folders.

However, will the thumbdrive consume power, as indicated by the small led on the drive itself, without the key in the ignition - or am I required to remove after each use?

Thanks!

If it does consume power, can't be much. Mine has been plugged in for over a year. Mine doesn't have an LED; if you're worried about it, get another thumb drive without the LED..

The power turns off after about half an hour.

Thanks, appreciate your input. I finally had to replace the original battery in my Mini, and I am probably over-sensitive to preserving the new one. I know I could have sat in my car and "watched" it to see if / when it turned off, but thought I'd bring it to the board instead.

Cheers!
