Navigation & Audio standard stereo and mk3 sat nav issue

standard stereo and mk3 sat nav issue
Hi guys, can anyone help with this issue I have?
My 2002 cooper s has factory sat nav with mk3 drive a tape deck head unit and 6 disc cd in boot.
The problem is sometimes when I start the car the radio wont power on but the speakers will pop every now and again. The stereo screen stays blank and then it will just start working or will usually work for the next journey.
I dont think I have the HK system as I can't see the amp anywhere. The stereo manual says boost on it if that helps?
Any ideas?
