Hi im having some difficulties with my audio system. Long storing short, Im trying to re-install the stock harmon and kardon system in my car. At this moment can anyone supply me with photos of the wiring/pigtail in the head unit so I make sure I rewire the pigtail correctly for my stereo thanks. One more question, can I use the HiFi-amplifier instead of the harmon kardon one. Can anyone tell me the benefits or the downsides of using the Hifi system.

1)The crossovers are in the amp and are in-vehicle tuned to suit the speaker responses and the vehicle body type.
2)The HK speakers are a 2Ohm load
3) The HK amp is driver via speaker level audio
4) The HK amps can pop quite easily

 

Ok, thanks for the diagram Joylove. Would a HIFI amp work with my system or would I have to go with a harmonkardon amplifier?


Would anyone have an actually picture(photo) of the pigtails when they where pulling out their own stereo unit?

 

Please make the long story short a little longer. What make/model MINI do you have? What is your existing situation?

 

I have a 05 Mini cooper s and the situation right now is the audio system is pretty much gutted. There used to be a aftermarket system but was all taken out. the speakers are there but I think they are not the harmon kardon ones (probably like infinity ones or such). Im trying to convert it back to a stock system (stock stereo and amp). I rewired all the necessary wires in the trunk for the amp. Im currently trying to rewire the stereo pigtail ( which is why im asking for some photos of how the pigtail would look stock). I have a Hifi amp but not sure if I should use it or should opt for the harmon kardon amp. I have been reading lots of postings about how harmon/kardon amps have been going out and not sure which one to use. Thats why I'm trying to get some help from here. thanks for all your imput!

 

What has he done for crossovers in the doors? You may be better just using what you have ad an aftermartket amp.
