FYI - iOS7 is OK to go in the Mini.
I have a 2013 Mini, Base radio/ USB/Iphone control.
The iOS7 upgrade works fine.
No issues after a few reboots. Had to reset the Bluetooth, and it took a while for the playlists to reload.. but everything seems ok.
Steering wheel buttons work fine. etc.. I'm using a 4s with the factory adapter and a Cable Jive extension cable.

Not being negative about your advice on iOS 7 compatibility topic Dan, as it's for sure good advice....and not trying to hijack this here...but does anyone else feel that iOS 7 is Windows Vista for the iPad? I feel sick to the stomach that I blindly installed it on my ipad MINI, and wish I could exorcise it out of there. And there is NO WAY I'm letting it go on my iphone. Super disappointed with Apple.

I disagree, for something I paid zero dollars for iOS7 (well, aside from a premium for the iPhone..).
I love it. Its quick, easy, and much cleaner...
I don't know what you expected..
Edit - BTW, Great JCW color choice and scheme.

Thanks for the compliment! I was a little worried I had picked the wrong blue, but when it showed up, with the black roof, stripes and rims, I find it to be stunning! I was very pleasantly surprised.
I guess with the apple updates I'm accustomed to improvements in the GUI and performance...but I find this version hard to read and with all the animation 'enhancements', my iPad seems to be running slower than before ios 7. If only I could 'downgrade' back to ios 6.
