HI, im going to install a sound system on the mini,
but i still dont know where the signal for the bass(woofer) is going to come from...
is it better to get it from the rear speakers or the front one?

I see your other thread now...
Basically the inputs on the amp are separate inputs not stereo inputs like you have in your drawing. So here's how it would be wired from head unit to amp.
Front Left - Channel 1
Front right - Channel 2
Subwoofer - Channel 3
Subwoofer - Channel 4
You might not need to use two channels for the sub. It depends if the amp sums the channels properly or even uses channel 4 when its bridged.
You would bridge channels 3 & 4 to make it 4 ohms and get your 800 watts for the sub.
You'll want to take the speaker outputs right at the back of the head unit then go to the HIGH inputs on the amp.
Hope that helps. To make things easier and way better sound you might want to consider replacing the headunit.

Hey, I'm at the same stage you're at in my Mini's sound system. I've been running a little car audio shop in Missouri for a while, and this has been my favorite project car so far.
There are "high-to-low" converters for pulling signal from already amplified speaker wires, but aftermarket radios can offer tons of features, and make your Mini a bit more unique.
In your drawing, it looks like you have the left and right speakers in the front and back on the same terminal, which will give you no stereo effect. If you're familiar with the song Sail by Awolnation, where the cello plays only on the left and the violin plays only on the right, they will be blended together.
Also, when you connect two average car speakers (usually 4 ohms) in parallel with each other, the amp will feel a load of 2 ohms. While this will give you a bit more volume, you're also doubling the power being put to each speaker, and doubling the amperage that the amp is feeding. In this case you need to be SURE that your amp is stable down to 2 ohms so that it doesn't overheat. Some are, some aren't.
If you don't already have something in mind, here's a link to what I would sell a customer with your setup. It's stable at 2 ohms on each channel, and could even run your rear speakers with no problem.

I'd love to help a fellow Mini owner on my favorite subject. Have you made any progress on your system?
