NAV Screen Brightness (dimness)

My NAV screen is too dim to read in daytime hours when cold. Today for example car was perhaps 50F when i pulled it out of the garage and the monitor is so dim its useless. I have the brightness turned all the way up. I remember this issue from last winter when it was annoying me as well. It will brighten when it warms fully but that may take a half hour depending on how cold it is to start.

I understand that these monitors are heated to maintain the ideal operating temp for the screen. Might my heater be non-functional? Is there a sensor that could be bad? Anyone else with these symptoms and what did you do about it?

Car is an '09 MCS, 30,000 miles.

You should still be under warranty so take it to the dealer and have it repaired.
