2005 r53 navigation "black screen"

just purchased this car, the navi isnt really a must have for me. but are there any alternatives to replacing the screen? or are there any tips on getting the system to work again? any help would be appreciated.

I found this one thread, but it talks as if the entire NAV unit was custom-assembled and installed: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-babushka.html. Another thread mentions making sure fuses F10 and F22 are not blown.

sorry guys, i know its been a while. i looked into this and the 'dvd unit' seems to not be getting any power. no red lights, no loading noises. how can i check if there is power to the wire going into the unit? or any ideas what the issue could be or alternatives. any help is much appreciated
