question for those of you with an iPhone 4 or 4s:

when I bought my 2010 MCS (before the iPhone 4) I used the cable connector Mini provided with the factory interface and iPhone 3GS with no problems

then with iPhone 4 there was a need to add an extra cable connector (powered) to assure the iPhone 4's charging, etc.

I have had no problems since then and even subscribed to a music streaming service (Spotify) which I was able to see tracks on the mini dash AND change and control them from the steering wheel

Yesterday I drove home a 2012 Coupe S yesterday (with only one connector cable included) and after plugging it in had charging, tracks, and steering wheel control, however, with Spotify I had the tracks stream thru the mini radio but NO control to change tracks from the steering wheel or manually on the iPhone 4s

1) did MiniUSA drop the need for that extra unsightly ($70) connector on the 2012 models?
2) why cant I manipulate my Iphone spotify listings as in the 2010 MCS I traded in?

Post this question in the Navigation and Audio forum. And don't worry about posting in multiple forums. I don't think that moderators move posts very often in NAM. It's more likely to get answered there IMO. Did you buy the same audio connection options on the 2012 as you did on the 2010? Mini Connected, iPhone BT stuff? Your Motoring Advisor at the dealership may be able to shed some light on this. Or not.
